From spreadsheets to seconds: the SAP Demand Planning Agent is live

Demand planning is one of the most painful jobs in any SAP customer's organization. Forecasts live in spreadsheets, get reconciled against IBP, get reconciled again against S/4HANA actuals, and the cycle takes weeks. By the time the plan is "done," the world has moved.

We built the SAP Demand Planning Agent to collapse that cycle from weeks to minutes — without ripping out anything the customer already has.

What it does

The Demand Planning Agent connects directly to a customer's existing SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and IBP environments and orchestrates the full planning loop in conversation:

  • Forecasting — multi-model forecast engine with automatic model selection per SKU/region/channel, accuracy tracking, and confidence intervals

  • External signals — fuses internal sales history with weather, macroeconomic, and social signals to catch demand shifts before they show up in orders

  • Demand sensing — detects short-cycle changes against the baseline and surfaces alerts before they become stockouts

  • IBP reconciliation — runs continuous comparisons of internal forecasts vs. IBP plan vs. S/4HANA actuals, flagging variances at the SKU and aggregate level

  • Scenario analysis — Monte Carlo simulations on top of the supply graph so planners can stress-test promotions, supplier delays, or new-product introductions in seconds

  • Replenishment — closed-loop replenishment recommendations that respect existing safety-stock policies, lead times, and supplier constraints

All of this runs against the customer's real SAP data, in their tenant, with full RBAC and tenant isolation. There is no shadow data warehouse, no separate planning system, no "rip and replace."

Why this matters

For SAP customers we've worked with, the planning cycle is the bottleneck on a dozen downstream decisions: procurement timing, inventory positioning, working-capital management, supplier negotiations. Compress the cycle by 10× and every one of those decisions gets sharper.

For SAP partners and consultants, the agent is something new to put in front of customers without rebuilding their practice. It runs against the SAP estate they already manage, so the conversation is "let's wire this up" — not "let's start a six-month transformation project."

What's next

The Demand Planning Agent is one of the SAP Agents available through the Agentnomics SAP Partner Program. Procure-to-Pay, Pricing, Inventory, Compliance, and Warehouse Agents are also in production. We'll be opening up the supply-graph and scenario engine for custom modeling in the coming weeks.

If you're an SAP customer or consultant who wants to see the Demand Planning Agent against your data, start a trial or apply to the partner program.
